History

A Timeless Setting

The first family home was called Poles (1730) and after passing through several hands, Poles was leased to the Hanbury family in 1800. In the late 1800s, the home was demolished and replaced by a new one, in true Jacobean style.

The site was eventually converted to a convent school, which led to the addition of our striking event space, Poles Hall - a chapel designed in 1932. By 1996, the estate had been transformed into the hotel we know today. With a rich history that speaks for itself, Hanbury Manor promises a day to remember.
